There are no words for this portrait. I spent some time with a family this weekend for their custom portrait session. Can you say 30×40 gallery wrap canvas?
I first photographed Maddie last year, and let me tell you, she was one tough nut to crack. Fast forward one year and one baby sister later, and Maddie was just full of smiles! Just two quick sneak peaks from our lifestyle session on Hollywood Beach.
Collaborative shoots are truly some of my favorites, and Adam’s bar mitzvah portrait session was truly a collaborative effort between Adam, his parents, and myself. His dad actually works in the Wynwood neighborhood in Miami and was really able to show me around. I’m looking forward to photographing his bar mitzvah in October; a basketball tournament to say the least! 100% out of the box and I love it!
Speaking of Wynwood in Miami, we will be offering one afternoon of sessions in Wynwood on October 20. 30 minutes in an amazing urban backdrop. $175. The colors and textures are fabulous and translate into fabulous pieces of art for your home. Email or call the studio for more information.
To say Twyla is “loved” would be an understatement. I spent a morning running around with this adorable family on the rooftop of a parking garage in Downtown Hollywood. They are getting ready to move cross country to California. I was so flattered to capture them here before they embark on this new adventure.
Just a reminder, Downtown Hollywood mini session dates are now available.
I have known Cassidy since she was 18 months old. She was as spunky then as she is now. Her family really holds a special place in my heart. It’s an honor and a privilege to photograph her bat mitzvah this December. Her bat mitzvah portrait session will be used to create a fabulous custom sign in book to display at her party!
I’ve been shooting for the Heart Gallery of Broward County for 5 years. During this time, I’ve had the privilege to meet amazing people and attend a number of amazing events. Although nothing has been as amazing as my last shoot for the Heart Gallery of Broward at Taylor’s Closet. Taylor’s Closet is a clothing boutique that rivals that of Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, however the beautiful clothing in this store is for young girls in need and is completely 100% free. I know that my description of Taylor’s Closet just doesn’t do it justice. Take the time and check out their website. You will be blown away by what the women over there are doing for teenage girls. In fact, Taylor’s Closet was started by Lindsey Giambattista when she was 14 years old. Now in college, Lindsey is a finalist in Seventeen Magazine’s “Pretty Amazing Contest.” The way Taylor’s Closet touches the lives of girls goes way beyond “Pretty Amazing.”
Meet Malayzia. Malayzia celebrated her sweet 16 at Taylor’s Closet with a shopping spree (at no cost) and a complete makeover. Malayzia is available for adoption. I photograph children all the time. It’s MY JOB. And let me tell you, Malayzia has “it”. She’s beautiful, sweet, kind, and fabulously photogenic. In fact, she truly could model. But what would mean more to her than a modeling contract, is a family.
If you’d like more information on Malayzia or how you can get more involved in both the Heart Gallery of Broward or Taylor’s Closet please check out their websites and make an inquiry.
See you soon,
court
Fellow photographer and friend Sarah Cardenas also getting in on the fun!
If photographing children can ever be a “guilty pleasure”, then shooting Ethan & Sydney is definitely mine. When Mom calls me wanting to book session (and lucky for me it’s pretty often) I tend to drop everything and do it as soon as I can. Mom always comes to the session with more luggage than an overseas vacation, and both of us are giddy school girls as we put together their looks. Mom is an amazing stylist. Email or call the studio (courtney@courtneyortiz.com 9545586893) if you’d like some help with wardrobe for your next family or child photography session.
As you can tell by the portraits, we all had a fabulous time in the studio!
Today, Owen joined the ranks of school children all over the United States. He started kindergarten. I’m really excited about this new adventure of his, and I think he truly is ready to be a “big boy”. Stella started school last week. She’ll be going three days a week, which means we’ll have two weekly “girls’ days”. I hope to make them very special.
